How to Use

Dosage

One tablet daily, preferably in the morning.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food. Do not crush or chew.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Red, raised skin rash.
  • Allergic skin reactions, especially if you are prone to allergies or asthma.
  • Low potassium level in the blood.
RARE
  • Vomiting or nausea.
  • Red spots on the skin (purpura).
  • Low sodium level in the blood, which can cause dehydration and low blood pressure.
  • Inability to get or keep an erection (impotence).
  • Tiredness, headache, tingling, or dizziness.
  • Digestive problems, such as nausea, constipation, or dry mouth.
  • Changes in blood cell counts, like fewer platelets (leading to bruising or nosebleeds), fewer white blood cells (can cause fever or sore throat), or anemia (fewer red blood cells).
  • High calcium level in the blood.
  • Irregular heartbeat.
  • Fainting.
  • Skin sensitivity to sunlight.
  • Nearsightedness, blurred vision, or worsening vision.

Important Warnings

  • If you are allergic to indapamide, sulfonamides, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • If you have severe kidney disease.
  • If you have severe liver disease or a condition called hepatic encephalopathy (a brain disease).
  • If your blood potassium levels are too low.
  • If you experience worsening vision or eye pain, as these can be signs of a serious eye condition.

  • This medicine may cause dizziness or tiredness, which can affect your ability to drive or use machines. Be careful, especially at the start of treatment.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
