How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 75–150 IU daily. Your doctor may increase the dose by 37.5–75 IU every seven or fourteen days.

Method

The medication is given as one injection under the skin once a day.

Important

The maximum daily dose is usually 450 IU.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Fostimon Set if you have enlarged ovaries, ovarian cysts (not due to hormonal disorder), unexplained bleeding, cancer in the ovaries, uterus, or breasts, a tumor in your pituitary gland or hypothalamus, or are allergic to urofollitropin or other ingredients.
  • Do not use this medicine if you have early menopause, malformations of your reproductive organs, or certain uterine tumors that would make a normal pregnancy impossible.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had allergic reactions to similar medicines before.
  • This treatment increases your risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). If you experience such symptoms, treatment should be stopped and pregnancy avoided. Contact your doctor immediately if you have lower abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or weight gain.
  • Do not use Fostimon Set if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • This medicine is made from human urine. The risk of virus transmission cannot be completely ruled out, but manufacturing methods reduce this risk.
  • Discuss with your doctor before starting treatment if you are prone to blood clots, if you or a close family member have had blood clots, or if you are significantly overweight.
