Zubatmin

Zubatmin is an infusion used to treat deficiencies of B and C vitamins, and glucose, which can be caused by alcoholism, poor diet, or problems with nutrient absorption.

How to Use

Dosage

For severe B and C vitamin deficiency, especially due to alcoholism, take 2–3 pairs of 5 ml ampoules. These are diluted in 50–100 ml of infusion fluid and given over 30 minutes, usually every 8 hours, as determined by your doctor.

Method

Zubatmin is given as a drip into a vein by a healthcare professional. The solution, made from two ampoules mixed and diluted, is infused over 30 minutes. It must only be given into a vein and diluted before use.

Important

You should not receive more than nine pairs of ampoules in a single day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Mild pain at the injection site
  • Swelling at the injection site
  • Tingling or prickling sensation at the injection site (paresthesia)
RARE
  • Sneezing
  • Mild asthma or wheezing (tight chest and whistling breath)
  • Swelling of face and/or throat
  • Skin rash
  • Severe itching
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Loss of consciousness due to very low blood pressure
  • Low blood pressure
  • Sweating
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Wheezing (bronchospasm)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Zubatmin if you are allergic to any of its ingredients or have had an allergic reaction to B or C vitamins before.
  • Tell your doctor if you have ever had a mild allergic reaction (like sneezing or mild asthma) to a B1 vitamin injection, as you could develop a severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock) to Zubatmin. This can happen even with the first dose.
  • This medication must only be given into a vein; it should not be injected into a muscle.
  • Tell your doctor about all other medicines you are taking, especially Levodopa (for Parkinson's disease) as Zubatmin can interfere with its effects, and other B1 vitamin injections which could cause severe allergic reactions.
  • If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
