How to Use

Dosage

Apply 5 times a day.

Method

Apply the cream to the affected area every 3-4 hours while awake, for 5 days. Start treatment as soon as you feel a tingle or see redness.

Important

Do not use for more than 5 days.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Dry or flaky skin
RARE
  • Temporary burning, tingling, or stinging right after applying the cream
  • Itching
  • Skin redness
  • Changes in skin color
  • Local rash or skin irritation with itching and burning where the cream was applied
  • Blurred vision
  • Swelling of face, tongue, or throat, making it hard to swallow or breathe (severe allergic reaction)
  • Hives (severe allergic reaction)

Important Warnings

  • Only use Zoviduo cream for cold sores on or near your lips.
  • Do not use it inside your eyes, mouth, nose, or on genitals.
  • Do not use Zoviduo to treat genital herpes or other skin infections besides cold sores.
  • If your immune system is weak (e.g., due to HIV or a bone marrow transplant), talk to your doctor before using.
  • Do not use with bandages, plasters, or cold sore patches.

  • Wash your hands before and after applying the cream to prevent spreading the infection.
  • If you experience blurred vision or other eye problems, contact your doctor.
  • Do not use this medicine for children under 12 years old.
  • Avoid applying the cream right before eating or drinking, as it might get into your mouth.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
  • If your symptoms persist for 5 days after stopping treatment, consult your doctor.
