Zopinox is a sleeping medicine that helps adults fall asleep easier, sleep longer, and reduce nighttime awakenings for temporary or short-term insomnia.
The usual dose for adults is 5 mg or 7.5 mg just before bedtime. For elderly patients or if you have liver, kidney, or breathing problems, the starting dose is usually 3.75 mg. Your doctor may increase the dose if needed.
Take the tablet just before going to bed, sitting or standing, not lying down. Swallow the tablet whole with a liquid, such as a glass of water. Make sure you can get 7–8 hours of uninterrupted sleep.
Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor, usually a maximum of 7.5 mg per day.
Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Sedative. For short-term use only. Increases the risk of drug addiction, cognitive disorder and traffic accidents. Increases risk of falls. Paradoxically, may increase anxiety, restlessness and aggression. (updated 12.2.2024)
