Zonisamide Desitin is a medicine for epilepsy, used to treat seizures in adults and children aged 6 years and older.
For adults, a typical starting dose is 100 mg (5 ml) once daily, or 50 mg twice daily when taken with other medicines. For children (6 years and older, weighing at least 20 kg), the dose is 1 mg per kilogram of body weight once daily. Your doctor will adjust the dose.
Shake the bottle well. Measure your dose with the syringe and swallow it directly, or mix it with water, orange juice, or yogurt. You can take it with or without food. Do not mix with fizzy drinks.
The maximum daily dose for adults is generally 300–500 mg (15–25 ml). For children, it is usually 6–8 mg per kilogram of body weight, up to a maximum of 500 mg (25 ml) daily.
