Zipzoc is an ointment stocking containing zinc oxide, used for treating long-lasting leg and foot sores, poor blood flow in leg veins, and for support after leg surgery.
The double bandage (stocking and elastic bandage) is changed initially twice a week, then once a week.
1. Pull the stocking onto your leg from the toes up to the back of your knee. 2. Smooth out any wrinkles carefully. 3. Apply a compression bandage over the stocking, starting from the outside of your foot at the base of your toes. Wrap 2-3 times over the instep, then up to the ankle, keeping your foot at a 90-degree angle. 4. Continue over the heel and back to the instep to lock the bandage and prevent swelling. 5. Then wrap upwards, spiraling towards the back of your knee. Tighter wraps give more compression. 6. Trim off any extra stocking.
One ointment stocking typically stays on for several days; the double bandage is changed 1-2 times per week.
