How to Use

Dosage

For adults, usually 40-80 mg twice a day with meals. For children, the starting dose is 20 mg with food, adjusted by your doctor.

Method

Take capsules whole with a large meal, twice a day (morning and evening). Do not chew, crush, or open them. Take at the same time each day.

Important

Adults should not take more than 160 mg per day. Children weighing 45 kg or less should not exceed 80 mg per day, and children over 45 kg should not exceed 160 mg per day.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to ziprasidone or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have or have had heart problems or a recent heart attack.
  • Do not take if you are using medicines for heart rhythm problems or medicines that can affect your heart rhythm.
  • Tell your doctor if you or your family have had blood clots.
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver disease, seizures, or epilepsy.

  • Be careful if you are elderly (over 65) with dementia, as there is a risk of stroke.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a slow heart rate or conditions that cause low salt levels, like severe diarrhea or vomiting.
  • Tell your doctor if you experience fast or uneven heartbeat, weakness, fainting, or dizziness when standing up, as these may be signs of a heart problem.
  • Stop taking this medicine and contact your doctor immediately if you get severe skin reactions (like blisters, peeling skin, fever, or rash) or if you experience severe drowsiness, low blood pressure when standing, dizziness, or walking problems, especially if you are elderly or frail, as these can lead to falls.
  • Do not take this medicine during pregnancy unless your doctor says so, as it might harm your baby.
  • Do not breastfeed while taking this medicine, as small amounts can pass into breast milk.
