How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose for adults is 40–80 mg twice a day with meals.

Method

Take the capsules whole with food, swallow them without chewing or crushing. Take one capsule in the morning and one in the evening with meals, at the same time each day.

Important

Do not take more than 160 mg per day.

  • High prolactin levels in blood

  • Urinary incontinence, pain or difficulty urinating

  • Difficulty emptying bladder
  • Neonatal drug withdrawal syndrome
  • Reduced orgasm
  • Feeling of heat
  • Decreased or increased white blood cell count
  • Raised and inflamed red skin patches covered with white scales (psoriasis)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Ziprasidon Krka if you are allergic to ziprasidone or any other ingredient in this medicine; signs of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling of the face or lips, and trouble breathing.
  • Do not take if you have or have had heart problems or a recent heart attack.
  • Do not take if you are taking medication for heart rhythm problems or any medicine that can affect your heart rhythm.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience severe skin reactions such as blistering rash, mouth sores, skin peeling, fever, or target-like spots, which can be life-threatening (Stevens-Johnson syndrome or DRESS syndrome).
  • Ziprasidon Krka can cause drowsiness, low blood pressure when standing up, dizziness, and walking problems, which may lead to falls. Be careful, especially if you are elderly or if your condition is somewhat weakened.

  • Do not drink alcohol during treatment with Ziprasidon Krka, as it increases the risk of side effects.
  • If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine, as it may harm the baby.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or hives, as these can be signs of a serious allergic reaction (angioedema).
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you develop fever, rapid breathing, sweating, muscle stiffness, tremor, difficulty swallowing, or decreased consciousness, as these can be signs of a serious condition called Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience confusion, agitation, high temperature, sweating, lack of muscle coordination, or muscle twitching, as these can be signs of Serotonin Syndrome.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you have a fast, irregular heartbeat or fainting spells, as these can be signs of a life-threatening heart rhythm disorder (Torsades de Pointes).
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you notice signs of a blood clot, such as swelling, pain, or redness in your leg, chest pain, or difficulty breathing, as blood clots can be serious.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience a prolonged, abnormal, and painful erection.
