How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you how much to take and for how long, as the dose depends on your specific condition.

Method

Open the sachet carefully at the tear mark, without cutting. Place the film on your tongue with dry fingers. It will dissolve quickly and be swallowed without water. If your mouth is dry, you can drink a little water first.

Important

Your doctor will tell you the maximum daily dose. Do not exceed it.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Weight gain, fluid retention (swelling), increased appetite, increased blood sugar levels.
  • Mood changes, emotional instability, irritability, anxiety.
  • Acne, skin problems (e.g., bruising, stretch marks), skin discoloration.
  • Slower wound healing.
  • Uncomfortable feeling in the stomach.
  • Blurred vision or impaired sight.
  • Irregular or absent menstruation.
RARE
  • Abnormal blood cell counts.
  • Cushing's syndrome (swelling of the abdomen and face).
  • Glaucoma, cataracts, worsening of corneal ulcers and infections, vision loss.
  • Stomach ulcers, bleeding in the digestive tract, inflammation of the pancreas.
  • Severe allergic reactions (e.g., heart rhythm problems, difficulty breathing, circulatory problems, cardiac arrest).
  • Worsening of existing infections or new severe infections that are hard to diagnose.
  • Low potassium (which can cause abnormal heart rhythm), diabetes, increased cholesterol and triglycerides.
  • Delayed growth in children.
  • Muscle diseases and weakness, problems with tendons (inflammation, rupture), calcium loss in bones, osteoporosis (weak bones).
  • Increased pressure in the head (especially in children), more seizures in epileptic patients, or new onset of epilepsy.
  • Depression, hallucinations, increased activity, psychosis, mania, euphoria, suicidal thoughts.
  • Excessive hair growth, sexual impotence.
  • High blood pressure, increased risk of hardening of the arteries and blood clots, inflammation of blood vessels, fragile capillaries.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Zeqmelit if you are allergic to dexamethasone or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • This medicine can increase your risk of infections and make them harder to detect.
  • In rare cases, this medicine can cause a serious and possibly fatal pheochromocytoma crisis (a tumor in the adrenal gland) with symptoms like headaches, sweating, fast heartbeat, and high blood pressure. Seek medical help immediately if you experience these symptoms.
  • Do not stop taking Zeqmelit suddenly without talking to your doctor, as this can worsen your condition. Your doctor will gradually reduce your dose.
  • Zeqmelit can slow down growth in children. Their growth should be monitored regularly. This medicine should only be used in children older than 3 months and weighing over 7 kg.
