How to Use

Dosage

For adults, take 40-80 mg two times a day with food.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with a meal; do not chew, crush, or open them. Take one capsule with breakfast in the morning and one with dinner in the evening, at the same time each day.

Important

Do not take more than 160 mg total in one day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Feeling sleepy or very tired during the day
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Feeling sick, throwing up, or indigestion
  • Unusual movements or muscle stiffness
  • Dry mouth
  • Weight changes (loss or gain)
RARE
  • Fast or uneven heartbeat, dizziness when standing up
  • Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat, or hives and trouble breathing
  • Fever, fast breathing, sweating, stiff muscles, shaking, and less awareness (can be a serious condition called Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome)
  • Confusion, agitation, high temperature, sweating, lack of coordination, and muscle twitching (can be Serotonin Syndrome)
  • Seizures
  • Trouble speaking
  • Changes in blood tests, like white blood cell count or calcium levels
  • Unusual breast milk production or breast growth in men

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Zeldox if you are allergic to ziprasidone or any other ingredient. If you get a rash, itching, swelling of your face or throat, or trouble breathing, get help from a doctor right away.
  • Do not use Zeldox if you have or have had heart problems, a recent heart attack, or take medicines that affect your heart's rhythm.
  • Zeldox can make you feel sleepy, dizzy, or cause your blood pressure to drop when you stand up, which could lead to falls. Be careful, especially if you are older.
  • Do not drink alcohol while taking Zeldox, as it can increase side effects.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to get pregnant, talk to your doctor. Zeldox is usually not recommended during pregnancy, and you should avoid breastfeeding.

  • Zeldox can make you drowsy. Do not drive or use machines until you are sure the drowsiness has passed.
  • If you get symptoms of a blood clot, such as swelling, pain, or redness in your legs, chest pain, or trouble breathing, get medical help right away.
