How to Use

Dosage

Take one Yasmin tablet every day.

Method

Take the tablet with or without food, with a small amount of water if needed, at approximately the same time each day.

Important

Take one active tablet daily for 21 days, followed by 7 pill-free days.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Menstrual disorders, breakthrough bleeding, breast pain, breast tenderness
  • Headache, depressed mood, migraine
  • Nausea, thick vaginal discharge, vaginal yeast infection
RARE
  • Breast enlargement, changes in sexual desire, weight changes, fluid retention
  • Acne, rash, severe skin itching, hair loss, skin conditions like erythema nodosum or erythema multiforme
  • High or low blood pressure, vomiting, diarrhea, vaginal infection, allergic reactions, asthma, breast discharge, hearing loss

Important Warnings

  • Yasmin can increase your risk of blood clots. Seek medical help immediately if you notice symptoms of a blood clot, such as sudden swelling or pain in a leg, shortness of breath, chest pain, or vision problems.
  • It is important to check your breasts regularly and tell your doctor about any lumps. If you experience severe abdominal pain, contact your doctor as it may be a sign of a rare liver tumor.
  • Yasmin does not protect you against HIV (AIDS) or other sexually transmitted diseases.
  • Do not use Yasmin if you are allergic to any of its ingredients, as this may cause itching, rash, or swelling.
  • Always tell your doctor and pharmacist about any other medications or herbal products you are using, as they may affect Yasmin's effectiveness.
