How to Use

Dosage

Take one Yanulez tablet every day.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with a little water, with or without food, around the same time each day.

Important

The maximum daily dose is one tablet.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache
  • Breast pain, including tenderness and discomfort in the breasts
RARE
  • Infections in the vagina or genital area, yeast infections
  • Increased appetite
  • Depression
  • Migraine, dizziness
  • High or low blood pressure
  • Abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
  • Acne, hair loss, rash, itching, skin discoloration (dark patches)
  • Abnormal periods (heavy, light, infrequent, or absent), breakthrough bleeding, painful periods, breast swelling
  • Tiredness, weakness, general discomfort, weight gain
  • Blood clots (in legs, lungs, heart, brain, or other organs)
  • Allergic reactions
  • Mood swings, changes in sex drive, hives, fluid retention

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you have or have had a blood clot in your legs, lungs, or other parts of your body. Seek immediate medical help if you notice symptoms of a blood clot, such as leg swelling or sudden shortness of breath.
  • Tell your doctor if you are going to have surgery or will be on prolonged bed rest.
  • Do not use if you have ever had a heart attack or stroke.
  • Do not use if you have severe diabetes, very high blood pressure, very high levels of fat in your blood, or certain types of migraine with aura.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver disease or a liver tumor.

  • Do not use if you have a cancer affected by sex hormones, such as breast or cervical cancer.
  • Do not use if you have unexplained vaginal bleeding.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to ethinylestradiol, dienogest, or any other ingredients in Yanulez.
  • Do not use if you have Hepatitis C and are taking certain medications for it (e.g., combinations of ombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir and dasabuvir, or glecaprevir/pibrentasvir, or sofosbuvir/velpatasvir/voxilaprevir).
  • Contact a doctor immediately if you develop symptoms of angioedema, such as swelling of the face, tongue, or throat, difficulty swallowing, or hives with breathing difficulties.
  • If you experience mood changes or symptoms of depression, contact your doctor.
