Xorox eye ointment contains aciclovir, an antiviral medicine used to treat eye infections caused by the Herpes simplex virus by destroying viruses or preventing their growth on the eye surface.
Apply a 1 cm strip of ointment into the lower eyelid pocket 5 times a day (every 4 hours), typically at 7:00, 11:00, 15:00, 19:00, and 23:00.
Pull down the lower eyelid and place the ointment into the conjunctival sac between the eyelid and the eye. Close your eyelids and roll your eye to spread the ointment better.
Do not exceed 5 applications per day. Continue treatment for at least 3 days after the corneal inflammation has healed.
Suitable for older adults. For temporary use in herpetic keratitis. (updated 4.12.2023)
