Method

The medicine is given as an injection into a muscle or salivary gland.

Important

Your doctor will tell you the maximum dose, which must not be exceeded. Treatments are usually given every 3-4 months, or longer for some conditions.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use XEOMIN if you are allergic to botulinum toxin or any other ingredient, have a disease causing overall muscle weakness (like myasthenia gravis), or have an infection or swelling where the injection will be given.
  • Get medical help right away if you have trouble breathing, swallowing, or speaking, or if you get serious allergic reactions like a rash, swelling of your face or throat, or feel dizzy.
  • Rarely, the medicine can spread from the injection site. This can cause severe muscle weakness, trouble swallowing, or food/drink going into your airways by mistake.
  • Do not drive or use machines if you have symptoms like drooping eyelids, feeling weak, dizziness, or vision problems.
