How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you how much Wilate to use and how often. Always follow your doctor's instructions.

Method

Wilate is prepared by mixing the powder with the liquid provided in the package and then injected into a vein. Treatment must begin under a doctor's supervision.

Important

Do not use more Wilate than your doctor has prescribed. No symptoms of overdose have been reported.

  • Burning and stinging sensation at the injection site
  • Chills
  • Skin redness
  • Headache
  • Hives (urticaria)
  • Low blood pressure (hypotension)
  • Fatigue (lethargy)
  • Nausea
  • Restlessness
  • Rapid heartbeat (tachycardia)
  • Shortness of breath
  • Tingling sensation
  • Vomiting
  • Wheezing
  • Sudden swelling in various parts of the body (angioedema)
  • Chest pain/pressure
  • Fever
  • Abdominal pain
  • Back pain
  • Cough
  • Dizziness

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to Wilate or any of its ingredients.
  • If you get signs of an allergic reaction like hives, rash, trouble breathing, or low blood pressure, stop using Wilate and contact your doctor right away.
  • Since this medicine is made from human blood, there's a small risk of infection, even with safety measures in place.
  • Parvovirus B19 infection can be serious for pregnant women, those with a weak immune system, or certain types of anemia.
  • Always keep a record of the product name and batch number of each Wilate dose you receive.

  • Your doctor might suggest Hepatitis A and B vaccinations if you often use medicines made from human plasma.
  • If you have von Willebrand disease, too much Factor VIII can increase the risk of blood clots. Your doctor will monitor this.
  • Your body might develop antibodies that stop Wilate from working. Your doctor will check for this, and you should tell them if bleeding doesn't stop.
  • Do not mix Wilate with any other medicines.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant.
  • Do not use Wilate after the expiration date on the label.
  • Only use the injection kit provided with Wilate.
