How to Use
Dosage
Your doctor will decide your dose based on your weight and the type of infection. Usually, adults receive 4 mg per kg of body weight twice a day.

Your doctor will decide your maximum daily dose. It is typically up to 12 mg per kg of body weight during the first 24 hours of treatment.

- •Vision problems (such as blurred vision or changes in seeing colors)
- •Fever
- •Rash
- •Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
- •Headache
- •Swelling in hands or feet
- •Stomach pain
- •Difficulty breathing
- •Changes in liver function tests (elevated liver enzymes)
- •Chills or feeling weak
- •Changes in blood cell counts
- •Low blood sugar, potassium, or sodium levels in the blood
- •Feeling anxious, depressed, confused, agitated, sleepless, or seeing things that aren't there (hallucinations)
- •Seizures, tremors, twitching, tingling or numbness, stiff muscles, feeling sleepy, or dizzy

- •Severe eye problems (double vision, eye pain, damage to optic nerve, cloudy eye surface)
- •Taste disorders, hearing problems, or ringing in the ears
- •Inflammation of internal organs, enlarged liver, liver failure, gallbladder problems, or gallstones
- •Joint or kidney inflammation
- •Very fast heartbeat
- •High cholesterol or urea levels in the blood
- •Severe allergic reactions (including life-threatening ones)
- •Reaction at the infusion site
- •Immune system problems (body attacking its own nerves)
- •Inflammation of tissue around the bone
- •Blistering rash after sun exposure

- Avoid sunlight and use sun protection, as your skin may become more sensitive to the sun.
- Contact your doctor immediately if you get sunburn, a bad rash, blisters, or bone pain.
