How to Use

Dosage

Lightly rub a thumb-tip sized amount of Voltaren Emulgel onto the painful area 3-4 times a day.

Method

Squeeze a small amount of gel from the tube and slowly rub it into the skin on the area where you have pain or swelling.

Important

Do not apply more than 3-4 times per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Rash
  • Itchy skin
  • Redness
  • Stinging sensation
RARE
  • Blistering rash or hives
  • Wheezing, shortness of breath, or chest tightness (asthma symptoms)
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
  • Increased sensitivity of the skin to sunlight, potentially causing itching, sunburn, swelling, and blisters

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to diclofenac, other NSAID pain relievers (like ibuprofen or aspirin), or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use during the last three months of pregnancy.
  • Do not use if you are under 14 years old.
  • Do not use on cuts, open wounds, or irritated skin with rashes.
  • Stop treatment if a skin rash develops after use.

  • This medicine is for external use only; do not put it in your mouth or swallow it.
  • Avoid getting the gel in your eyes. If it gets into your eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  • Do not use under airtight (plastic) bandages or dressings.
