Vizidorduo

Vizidorduo is an eye drop solution containing dorzolamide and timolol, used to lower high eye pressure in glaucoma when other beta-blocker eye drops aren't enough.

How to Use

Dosage

One drop in the affected eye, twice a day (morning and evening).

Method

Wash your hands before use. Do not touch the tip of the bottle to your eye or any surface to prevent contamination. If using other eye drops, wait at least 10 minutes between applications.

Important

The maximum daily dose is one drop in the affected eye, twice a day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Burning and stinging in the eyes
  • Taste disturbance
  • Redness in and around the eye
  • Itching or watery eyes
  • Corneal erosion (damage to the front of the eyeball), swelling and/or irritation in and around the eye
  • Feeling of something in the eye
  • Decreased corneal sensitivity (not reacting to foreign body sensation or pain in the eye)
  • Eye pain
  • Dry eyes
  • Blurred vision
  • Headache
  • Sinusitis (pressure or blocked feeling in the nose)
  • Nausea
  • Weakness/tiredness and fatigue
RARE
  • Dizziness
  • Depression
  • Inflammation of the iris
  • Visual disturbances, including changes in refractive power (in some cases, due to stopping medicines that constrict the pupil)
  • Slow heart rate
  • Fainting
  • Shortness of breath
  • Indigestion
  • Kidney stones
  • Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE, an autoimmune disease that can cause inflammation in internal organs)
  • Tingling or numbness in the feet or hands
  • Insomnia
  • Nightmares
  • Memory loss
  • Worsening of myasthenia gravis symptoms (muscle weakness disease)
  • Decreased sexual desire
  • Stroke
  • Temporary short-sightedness that may disappear when treatment is stopped
  • Detachment of the layer under the retina containing blood vessels after filtration eye surgery, which may cause visual disturbances
  • Drooping eyelid (eye stays half-closed)
  • Double vision
  • Crusting of the eyelids
  • Swelling of the cornea (appears as visual disturbances)
  • Low eye pressure
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Low blood pressure
  • Changes in heart rhythm or rate
  • Heart failure (heart disease with shortness of breath and swelling of the legs due to fluid retention)
  • Swelling (fluid retention)
  • Cerebral ischemia (lack of blood to the brain)
  • Chest pain
  • Palpitations (fast or irregular heartbeat)
  • Heart attack
  • Raynaud's syndrome, swelling or coldness of hands and feet, and reduced circulation in arms and legs
  • Leg cramps and/or pain when walking (claudication)
  • Gasping for breath
  • Worsening of lung function
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Nosebleed
  • Constriction of airways in the lungs
  • Cough
  • Throat irritation
  • Dry mouth
  • Diarrhea
  • Contact allergy
  • Hair loss
  • Silvery-white rash (psoriasis-like rash)
  • Peyronie's disease (may cause penile curvature)
  • Allergic-like reactions such as rash, hives, itching, in rare cases possibly swelling of the lips, eyes and mouth, wheezing or severe skin reactions (Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis)
  • Strong heartbeats that can be fast or irregular (palpitations)

  • High blood pressure
  • Low blood sugar levels

  • Muscle pain (not caused by exercise)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to dorzolamide, timolol, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have or have had severe breathing problems like asthma or chronic lung disease.
  • Do not use if you have a slow heart rate, heart failure, or irregular heartbeats.
  • Do not use if you have severe kidney disease or kidney problems, or have had kidney stones.
  • Do not use if your blood is too acidic due to too much chloride.

  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience eye irritation or new eye symptoms like redness or swelling.
  • If you suspect an allergic reaction (e.g., rash, severe skin reaction, red or itchy eyes), stop using the medicine and contact your doctor immediately.
  • Inform your doctor if you have an eye infection, eye injury, eye surgery, or new/worsening eye symptoms.
  • If you wear soft contact lenses, ask your doctor before using this medicine, as it has not been studied in contact lens users.
