How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you how many capsules to take, their strength, how often, and for how long. This depends on your body size, blood test results, and general health.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with water, preferably with a light meal to reduce nausea. Do not chew, suck, or dissolve them. If you accidentally chew or suck a capsule, rinse your mouth well and contact your doctor immediately.

Important

Do not take more than a total of 160 mg per week. Never take Vinorelbine Orifarm more than once a week.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Infections in various places.
  • Stomach problems like diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting.
  • Inflammation or sores in the mouth or throat.
  • Low red blood cells (anemia), which can make your skin pale, cause weakness, or shortness of breath.
  • Low platelets, which increases the risk of bleeding or bruising.
  • Low white blood cells, which increases the risk of infection.
  • Loss of some reflexes.
  • Hair loss, usually mild.
  • Fatigue (feeling very tired).
  • Fever.
  • Feeling unwell (malaise).
  • Weight loss, loss of appetite.
  • Signs of a serious infection, such as cough, fever, and chills.
  • Severe dizziness and lightheadedness when standing up, possibly a sign of a strong drop in blood pressure.
  • Difficulty coordinating muscle movements.
  • Vision changes.
  • Shortness of breath, cough.
  • Difficulty urinating, and other problems with urinary or reproductive organs.
  • Trouble sleeping.
  • Headache, dizziness, changes in taste.
  • Esophagus inflammation, difficulty swallowing food and liquids.
  • Skin reactions.
  • Chills.
  • Weight gain.
  • Joint pain, jaw pain, muscle pain.
  • Pain in various parts of the body and at the tumor site.
  • High blood pressure.
  • Liver disease.
RARE
  • Severe constipation and stomach pain if you haven't had a bowel movement for several days.
  • Heart failure, which can cause shortness of breath, swollen ankles, or an irregular heartbeat.
  • Lack of muscle control, which may include unusual walking, speech changes, and abnormal eye movements (ataxia).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to vinorelbine, other similar cancer medicines (vinca alkaloids), or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have a bowel disease affecting how your body absorbs food, or if you've had part of your stomach or small intestine removed by surgery.
  • Do not take if you have very low white blood cells or platelets, or if you've had a serious infection recently (in the last two weeks).
  • Do not take if you are breastfeeding.
  • Do not take if you are receiving long-term oxygen treatment.

  • Do not take if you are planning to get or have recently received a yellow fever vaccine.
  • This medicine is not for children or teenagers under 18 years old.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant. Women who can get pregnant must use effective birth control during treatment and for three months after. Men treated with this medicine should not father a child during treatment and for 3 months after stopping. Talk to your doctor about sperm storage.
  • Do not drive or use machines if you feel unwell or if your doctor has told you not to.
