How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will determine your dose and how often you take it, based on your body surface area, blood test results, and general health.

Method

Swallow the capsule whole with water, preferably with a light meal. Do not take with hot drinks, and do not chew or suck the capsule.

Important

The total weekly dose must not exceed 160 mg, and the medicine should not be taken more than once a week.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Infections in various parts of the body.
  • Stomach problems, such as diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting.
  • Inflammation in the mouth.
  • Reduced red blood cells, which can cause pale skin, weakness, and shortness of breath.
  • Reduced platelets, which can increase the risk of bleeding or bruising.
  • Reduced white blood cells, making you more prone to infections.
  • Weakened reflexes, sometimes changes in sense of touch.
  • Hair loss, usually mild.
  • Fatigue.
  • Fever.
  • Feeling unwell.
  • Weight loss and loss of appetite.
  • Difficulty controlling muscle movements.
  • Vision changes.
  • Shortness of breath and cough.
  • Difficulty urinating and other urinary tract symptoms.
  • Sleep problems.
  • Headache, dizziness, and changes in taste.
  • Inflammation of the esophagus, difficulty swallowing food or liquids.
  • Skin reactions.
  • Chills.
  • Weight gain.
  • Joint, jaw, and muscle pain.
  • Pain in various parts of the body and in the tumor area.
  • High blood pressure.
  • Liver disorders (abnormal liver enzyme test results).
RARE
  • Heart failure, which can cause shortness of breath, ankle swelling, and irregular heartbeats.
  • Lack of muscle control, which may cause abnormal gait, speech problems, and abnormal eye movements (ataxia).
  • Severe blood infections (sepsis), high fever, and general ill health.
  • Heart attack.
  • Bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract.
  • Low blood sodium levels, which can cause weakness, muscle twitches, fatigue, confusion, and unconsciousness. This can also be due to fluid retention.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to vinorelbine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are breastfeeding.
  • Do not take if you have had stomach or small bowel surgery, or if you have bowel disorders.
  • Do not take if you have a low white blood cell or platelet count, or if you have had a severe infection in the past two weeks.
  • Do not take if you plan to get or have recently received a yellow fever vaccine.

  • Do not take if you need long-term oxygen therapy.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had a heart attack or severe chest pain.
  • Tell your doctor if your ability to perform daily activities is significantly reduced.
  • Tell your doctor if you have received radiation therapy to your liver.
  • Tell your doctor if you have symptoms of infection, such as fever, chills, or cough.
  • Avoid live vaccines (such as measles, mumps, or rubella) during treatment, as they can cause severe infection.
  • Tell your doctor if you have severe liver disease not related to your cancer.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Discuss the risks with your doctor.
  • Blood tests will be done regularly during treatment to ensure the medicine is safe for you. Your treatment may be delayed if your blood counts are not adequate.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you experience signs of infection, like cough, fever, or chills.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you have severe constipation and stomach pain if you haven't had a bowel movement for several days.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you have severe dizziness or fainting when standing up, which can be a sign of very low blood pressure.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you have severe chest pain you haven't felt before. This could be a heart attack.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you have breathing difficulties, dizziness, low blood pressure, itching all over your body, or swelling of your eyelids, face, lips, or throat, which can be signs of an allergic reaction.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you have chest pain, shortness of breath, and fainting, which can be signs of a blood clot in the lungs.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you have headache, changes in mental state (leading to confusion or coma), seizures, blurred vision, and high blood pressure, which can be signs of a serious brain disorder.
