How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will determine your dose, usually 60 mg/m² of body surface area for the first three doses. After that, the dose may be increased to 80 mg/m² of body surface area.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with water, preferably with a light meal. Do not chew or suck them, and do not take them with hot drinks.

Important

Do not take Vinorelbine Accord more than once a week, and the total dose must not exceed 160 mg per week.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Infections throughout the body
  • Stomach upset, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting
  • Mouth inflammation
  • Decrease in red blood cell count (anemia), which can cause pale skin, weakness, or shortness of breath
  • Decrease in platelet count, which can increase the risk of bleeding and bruising
  • Decrease in white blood cell count, which increases the risk of infections
  • Loss of some reflexes, occasional changes in touch sensation
  • Hair loss (usually mild)
  • Fatigue
  • Fever
  • Feeling unwell
  • Weight loss, loss of appetite
  • Difficulties coordinating muscle movements
  • Vision changes
  • Shortness of breath, cough
  • Difficulties urinating, other genitourinary symptoms
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Headache, dizziness, changes in taste
  • Esophagus inflammation, difficulty swallowing food or liquids
  • Skin reactions
  • Chills
  • Weight gain
  • Joint pain, jaw pain, muscle pain
  • Pain in various parts of the body and at the tumor site
  • High blood pressure
  • Liver problems (abnormal liver function test results)
RARE
  • Heart failure, which can cause shortness of breath, ankle swelling, and irregular heartbeat
  • Lack of muscle control, which may involve abnormal gait, changes in speech, and abnormal eye movements (ataxia)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to vinorelbine, other vinca alkaloids, or any other ingredients.
  • Do not breastfeed while using this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have had stomach or small intestine surgery, or a disease affecting food absorption.
  • Do not take if you have a low white blood cell or platelet count, or a severe infection in the last two weeks.
  • Do not take if you plan to get or have recently received a yellow fever vaccine.

  • Talk to your doctor if you have had a heart attack, severe chest pain, liver disease, or received radiation therapy to the liver.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have symptoms of infection, such as fever, chills, or cough.
  • This medicine is not recommended for children under 18 years of age.
  • If you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, or plan to become pregnant, talk to your doctor. Do not use this medicine while pregnant.
  • Use effective contraception during treatment and for 7 months after treatment (women) or 4 months after treatment (men).
  • Contact a doctor immediately if you develop: signs of infection (such as fever, cough, chills), severe constipation or abdominal pain, extreme dizziness or fainting, chest pain, shortness of breath, allergic reactions (such as swelling), or neurological symptoms (such as headache, confusion, seizures, blurred vision, high blood pressure).
  • Contact a doctor immediately if you have symptoms of blood poisoning (sepsis), such as high fever and general weakness, or gastrointestinal bleeding.
  • Contact a doctor immediately if you have symptoms of low blood sodium, such as weakness, muscle twitching, fatigue, confusion, or unconsciousness.
