How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you how many capsules to take based on your body size. The usual weekly dose is 60 mg per square meter for the first three doses, then it may be increased to 80 mg per square meter.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with water, preferably with a light meal. Do not chew, suck, or take them with hot drinks.

Important

Do not take more than 160 mg per week. Do not take Vinorelbine Accord more than once a week.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Infections in various parts of the body.
  • Stomach upset, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain, feeling sick, vomiting.
  • Sores or inflammation in the mouth.
  • Feeling weak, tired, short of breath, or looking pale due to fewer red blood cells (anemia).
  • Higher risk of bleeding or bruising because you have fewer platelets.
  • More likely to get infections due to fewer white blood cells.
  • Loss of some reflexes, sometimes changes in how you feel touch.
  • Hair loss, usually mild.
  • Feeling very tired or lacking energy.
  • Having a high temperature (fever).
  • Generally feeling unwell.
  • Weight loss, loss of appetite, or weight gain.
  • Difficulty with muscle coordination or movement.
  • Changes in eyesight.
  • Shortness of breath, cough.
  • Difficulty urinating or other problems with the urinary tract.
  • Trouble sleeping.
  • Headache, dizziness, changes in taste.
  • Inflammation of the esophagus, difficulty swallowing food or liquids.
  • Skin changes or reactions.
  • Feeling cold and shivering (chills).
  • Joint pain, jaw pain, muscle pain, or pain in other body parts and at the tumor site.
  • Blood pressure that is higher than normal (high blood pressure).
  • Problems with liver function (shown by abnormal test results).
RARE
  • Heart weakness causing shortness of breath, swollen ankles, or irregular heartbeat (heart failure).
  • Problems with muscle control, leading to unusual walking, speech, or eye movements (ataxia).
  • Severe infection in the blood with symptoms like high fever and a general feeling of being very sick (sepsis).
  • Blockage of blood flow to the heart muscle (heart attack).
  • Bleeding in the stomach or intestines (gastrointestinal bleeding).
  • Low sodium levels in the blood, causing weakness, muscle twitching, tiredness, confusion, or loss of consciousness. This can sometimes be due to too much of a certain hormone.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to vinorelbine or similar medicines, or if you are breastfeeding.
  • Do not take if you have severe issues with white blood cells, platelets, or a serious infection in the past two weeks.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you have signs of infection like fever, chills, or cough, or if you get severe constipation with stomach pain.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you experience severe dizziness, fainting, severe chest pain, breathing difficulties, or signs of an allergic reaction (rash, swelling of face/lips/throat).
  • If you accidentally chew or suck a capsule, rinse your mouth well with water and contact your doctor right away. Do not swallow damaged capsules.
