How to Use

Dosage

For adults, typically 1-2 ml (5-10 mg) as directed by a doctor. For children under 12, typically 0.5 ml (2.5 mg) diluted to 2-2.5 ml; some children over 1.5 years may need up to 5 mg.

Method

Use only with a nebulizer for inhalation, exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. Do not inject or swallow it.

Important

Always follow your doctor's instructions. Do not exceed the prescribed dose or the frequency of use, usually up to four times a day for children.

RARE
  • Palpitations
  • Irritation of the mouth and throat
  • Muscle cramps
  • Low potassium levels in blood
  • Widening of peripheral blood vessels
  • Allergic reactions (e.g., swelling of eyes, face, lips, throat, rash, constricted airways, low blood pressure, fainting)
  • Hyperactivity
  • Heart rhythm disorders
  • Wheezing right after taking the medicine (paradoxical bronchospasm)
  • Lactic acidosis
  • Chest pain

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Ventoline if you are allergic to salbutamol or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Talk to your doctor before using Ventoline if you have or have had heart disease, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, an overactive thyroid, low potassium levels in your blood, diabetes (especially if you also use corticosteroids), or glaucoma.
  • If your asthma symptoms get worse or Ventoline doesn't work as well, contact your doctor right away.
  • If you use Ventoline for asthma symptoms more than twice a week (not counting before exercise), it might mean your asthma is not well controlled. Contact your doctor as soon as possible.
  • Stop using this medicine and contact your doctor immediately if you experience worsening breathing or wheezing right after taking it, signs of an allergic reaction (like rash, redness, swelling of face/mouth, or sudden weakness), or symptoms of lactic acidosis (fast breathing, shortness of breath, feeling cold, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting).
