Veluna contains desmopressin, a substance similar to a natural hormone that helps your body reduce how much urine it makes.
Your doctor will tell you the right dose. For central diabetes insipidus, the usual starting dose is 0.25 ml three times a day. For bedwetting, it's usually 0.5 ml one hour before bedtime.
Take this medicine by mouth using the special syringe provided. Always follow your doctor's instructions. If you are treating bedwetting, limit how much you drink for 1 hour before and 8 hours after taking Veluna.
Do not take more than 3 ml (1080 micrograms) of Veluna in a single day.
