How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will determine your individual dose.

Method

A healthcare professional will administer the Velbe injection intravenously as an infusion or a direct injection, which takes about one minute.

Important

The maximum daily dose will be determined by your doctor based on your individual treatment plan.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Decrease in white blood cell and platelet counts.
  • Hair loss.
  • Injection site irritation, skin blistering.
  • Constipation, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, bowel obstruction, stomatitis, diarrhea, gastrointestinal bleeding.
  • High blood pressure, chest pain.
  • Bronchospasm and shortness of breath (when used with other cancer medications).
  • Bone pain, weakness, pain at the tumor site, jaw pain.
RARE
  • Sensory disturbances, depression, headache, seizures, dizziness (neurological side effects are generally rare).
  • Hearing impairment or dizziness due to auditory nerve damage (especially when used with other ototoxic cancer drugs).
  • Heart attack.
  • Hormonal disorder (antidiuretic hormone secretion) and associated sodium deficiency.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to vinblastine or any other ingredients.
  • Do not use if you have a bacterial infection that needs to be treated first.
  • Do not use if your white blood cell count is very low, unless otherwise directed by your doctor.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have ischemic heart disease or liver problems.
  • Inform your doctor immediately if you experience a sore throat, fever, chills, or mouth sores.

  • Velbe is not recommended for pregnant women, women planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding women.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how Velbe affects you.
  • Administering Velbe into the spinal cord (intrathecally) is life-threatening and can lead to death.
