How to Use
Dosage
One 0.5 ml dose for adults and children aged 6 months to 17 years.
Method
A doctor or nurse will give the injection into a muscle or under the skin.
Important
Children under 9 who have not been vaccinated against the flu before need a second 0.5 ml dose at least four weeks after the first dose. Otherwise, one dose is enough.

- •Temporary drop in blood platelets (can cause more bruising or bleeding)
- •Groaning or restlessness (in young children)
- •Upper stomach pain
- •Hypersensitivity (allergic reaction)
- •Nerve pain
- •Seizures
- •Nerve problems (like stiff neck, confusion, numbness, weakness, balance issues, or paralysis)
- •Inflammation of blood vessels (vasculitis) which can cause rash or temporary kidney problems
- •Severe allergic reaction (with symptoms like rash, itching, hives, redness, trouble breathing, swelling of face/lips/throat/tongue, cold/clammy skin, fast heartbeat, dizziness, weakness, or fainting)
Important Warnings
- Do not use if you are allergic to the active ingredients, any other ingredient in the vaccine, or very small amounts of egg, neomycin, formaldehyde, or octoxinol-9.
- Postpone vaccination if you or your child has a high or moderate fever or an acute illness.
- Tell your doctor if you or your child has a weak immune system or takes medicines that affect the immune system.
- Tell your doctor if you or your child has bleeding problems or bruises easily.
- Inform your doctor or nurse if you or your child has fainted during a previous injection.

- Tell your doctor if you or your child will have a blood test within a few days after vaccination, as results might be incorrect.
- This vaccine is not recommended for children under 6 months of age.
