How to Use

Dosage

Start with one 0.5 mg tablet daily for 3 days. From day 4 to 7, take one 0.5 mg tablet twice a day (morning and evening). From day 8 onwards, take one 1 mg tablet twice a day (morning and evening).

Method

Take Varenicline Viatris by mouth, swallowing the tablets whole with water. You can take it with or without food.

Important

The maximum daily dose is two 1 mg tablets (2 mg total).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to varenicline or any of its ingredients.
  • If you feel very sad, worried, angry, or have thoughts of harming yourself, stop taking this medicine and call your doctor right away.
  • Stopping smoking can change your mood. Talk to your doctor if you have had mental health problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you have new or worsening heart problems. Get help right away if you have signs of a heart attack or stroke.
  • Inform your doctor if you have a history of seizures or epilepsy before starting this medicine.

  • If you get a severe skin rash, blisters, or peeling skin, stop taking this medicine and get medical help right away.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant. If you are breastfeeding, ask your doctor for advice.
  • This medicine can make you dizzy, sleepy, or faint. Do not drive or use machines until you know how it affects you.
