How to Use

Dosage

Start with one 0.5 mg tablet once daily (Days 1-3). Then, one 0.5 mg tablet twice daily (Days 4-7). From Week 2 onwards, take one 1 mg tablet twice daily.

Method

Take the tablets by mouth, swallow whole with water, with or without food.

Important

The maximum dose is two 1 mg tablets per day (total 2 mg).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to varenicline or any other ingredients.
  • If you experience mood changes, depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts during treatment, stop taking the medicine and contact your doctor right away.
  • If you have new or worsening heart problems, such as chest pain or shortness of breath, contact your doctor immediately.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had seizures or epilepsy before starting treatment.
  • If you get a severe allergic reaction, such as swelling of your face, lips, or tongue, or difficulty breathing, stop the medicine and seek immediate medical help.

  • Avoid use during pregnancy. Talk to your doctor if you are planning to become pregnant.
  • This medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you.
