Valsartore Comp contains two active ingredients, valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide, which both work to lower high blood pressure.

How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is one Valsartore Comp tablet once a day.

Method

Take the tablet every day at the same time, usually in the morning. You can take it with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

Important

Always follow your doctor's instructions for the maximum daily dose. Do not take more than prescribed.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Feeling dizzy or lightheaded, especially when standing up quickly.
  • Low levels of potassium, sodium, or magnesium in your blood.
  • High uric acid or lipid (fat) levels in your blood.
  • Itchy skin rash.
  • Losing your appetite.
  • Mild nausea or vomiting.
  • Trouble getting or keeping an erection.
RARE
  • Serious allergic reactions like swelling of your face, tongue, or throat (angioedema), difficulty swallowing or breathing, or severe skin rash with blisters or peeling.
  • Severe skin rashes, increased sensitivity to sun, or a higher risk of non-melanoma skin cancer; rash with fever and joint pain (possible signs of lupus).
  • Problems with your kidneys (e.g., making little urine or kidney failure), liver (yellow skin/eyes), or heart rhythm; changes in blood tests (e.g., low white blood cells, low platelets, high potassium, high calcium, high blood sugar, low hemoglobin).
  • Severe stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea (including internal gut swelling), constipation.
  • Vision problems, eye pain, or blurry vision; feeling very dizzy, lightheaded, fainting, or vertigo; headache, sleep problems, depression, tingling, numbness, or ringing in the ears; confusion.
  • Cough, low blood pressure, muscle pain or cramps, weakness, fatigue, or dehydration (feeling very thirsty, dry mouth, little urine).
  • Trouble breathing, wheezing, or coughing, especially with fever.
  • Fever, sore throat, or frequent infections due to low white blood cells.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to valsartan, hydrochlorothiazide, or any similar medicines (sulfonamides), or any other ingredients in the tablet.
  • Do not use Valsartore Comp if you are pregnant, especially during the last 6 months, as it can harm your baby. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to be.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe liver or kidney disease, cannot produce urine, or are on dialysis.
  • Do not take Valsartore Comp if your blood potassium or sodium levels are too low, or if calcium levels are too high, or if you have gout and diabetes/kidney problems while taking a medicine called aliskiren.
  • If you get swelling of your face, tongue, or throat, or have trouble breathing, stop the medicine and see a doctor right away. This could be a serious allergic reaction (angioedema).

  • This medicine can make your skin more sensitive to the sun and may increase the risk of skin cancer. Protect your skin from sun exposure.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
