Valsartan Actavis is a medicine that helps lower high blood pressure and treats certain heart conditions by relaxing blood vessels.
Your doctor will prescribe your exact dose. For high blood pressure, adults usually start with 80 mg once daily. For children, the dose depends on their weight. For heart attack or heart failure, the dose usually starts lower and is increased over time.
Swallow the tablet with a glass of water. You can take it with or without food. Try to take your medicine at about the same time each day.
The maximum daily dose is generally 320 mg.
Suitable for older adults. Monitor renal function and potassium concentrations during the pharmacotherapy. Avoid concurrent use of NSAIDs. (updated 14.4.2025)
