Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to mesna, similar medicines (thiols), or any other ingredient in this medicine. Stop taking it and contact your doctor immediately if you have signs of a severe allergic reaction like swelling of your face, tongue, or throat, trouble swallowing, hives, or difficulty breathing.
  • Tell your doctor if you have previously had trouble breathing, wheezing, skin redness, itching, or swelling after taking Uromitexan.
  • Inform your doctor if you are receiving whole-body radiation therapy and high doses of cancer medicines (like cyclophosphamide) at the same time.
  • Tell your doctor if you have an autoimmune disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, or kidney inflammation, as these can increase the risk of side effects.
  • Tell your doctor if you feel sick or vomit. If you vomit during Uromitexan treatment, contact your doctor immediately as you might need a different way to take the medicine.

  • Tell your doctor if you have had stomach or bowel surgery.
  • Tell your doctor if you have previously had a blockage or obstruction in your urinary tract that prevents normal urination.
  • Tell your doctor if you have any sugar intolerance, or if your doctor has told you that you have lactose intolerance.
  • Drink enough fluids while taking Uromitexan; do not drink less than recommended. Ask your doctor if you are unsure.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you might be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before using this medicine.
  • This medicine may affect your ability to drive or use machines, as it can cause dizziness, drowsiness, and blurred vision.
