Take Uromitexan tablets by mouth. You can take them with or without food.

COMMON

RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions (e.g., swelling of face/throat, trouble breathing, hives)
  • Seizures
  • Changes in blood cell counts (low red or white blood cells, or platelets)
  • Liver inflammation
  • Kidney problems (acute kidney failure)
  • Severe skin rashes with blisters (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome)
  • Joint pain
  • Muscle pain

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Uromitexan if you are allergic to mesna or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Stop taking Uromitexan and call your doctor right away if you get swelling of your face, tongue, or throat, have trouble swallowing or breathing, or get hives. This could be a serious allergic reaction.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had breathing problems or skin reactions after using Uromitexan before, or if you have autoimmune diseases, kidney problems, or if you vomit often.
  • Drink plenty of fluids as advised by your doctor to help your kidneys work well while taking this medicine.
  • Uromitexan may cause dizziness or blurred vision. Do not drive or operate machines if you feel these effects.
