Triplixam is a combination of three active ingredients (perindopril, indapamide, and amlodipine) used to lower high blood pressure.

How to Use

Dosage

Typically, one tablet once a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water, preferably in the morning before a meal.

Important

Follow your doctor's instructions for the maximum daily dose; typically, it is one tablet per day.

  • Shortness of breath
  • Digestive problems (nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, taste disorders, indigestion or heartburn, diarrhea, constipation, changes in bowel habits)
  • Allergic reactions (e.g., rash, itching)
  • Muscle spasms
  • Feeling tired
  • Weakness
  • Drowsiness
  • Swelling of the ankles
RARE
  • Mood changes
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Tremor
  • Hives
  • Fainting
  • Loss of sensation to pain

  • Runny or stuffy nose (rhinitis)
  • Hair loss
  • Purple spots on the skin (purpura)

  • Feeling unwell
  • Kidney problems
  • Urination problems
  • Increased need to urinate at night
  • Frequent urination
  • Impotence (difficulty getting or keeping an erection)
  • Fever or increased body temperature
  • Breast discomfort or enlargement in men
  • Weight gain or loss
  • Increase in certain white blood cells
  • High potassium in the blood
  • Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
  • Low sodium in the blood, which can lead to dehydration and low blood pressure
  • Inflammation of blood vessels (vasculitis)
  • Sensitivity to light (skin changes) after exposure to sunlight or artificial UV light
  • Blisters on the skin
  • Swelling of hands, ankles, or feet
  • Increased levels of creatinine and urea in the blood
  • Falls
  • Dry mouth
  • Confusion
  • Reduced or no urine output, acute kidney failure
  • Dark urine, nausea, vomiting, muscle cramps, confusion, and seizures (symptoms of SIADH)
  • Reduced number of white blood cells
  • Reduced number of platelets (causes easy bruising and nosebleeds)
  • Anemia (reduced number of red blood cells)
  • Angina (chest pain, jaw and back pain during physical activity due to blood flow problems to the heart)
  • Eosinophilic pneumonia (a rare type of lung inflammation)
  • Swelling of the gums
  • Severe skin reactions, including severe rash, redness all over the body, intense itching, blisters, skin peeling and swelling, erythema multiforme (rash often starting as red, itchy patches on face, arms, or legs)
  • Bleeding, tender or thickened gums
  • Abnormal liver function, liver inflammation (hepatitis)
  • Severe kidney problems
  • Yellowing of the skin (jaundice)
  • Swelling of the abdomen (gastritis)
  • Nerve disorders that can cause weakness, tingling, or numbness
  • Severe muscle stiffness
  • High blood sugar (hyperglycemia)
  • High calcium in the blood
  • Stroke possibly caused by very low blood pressure
  • Liver-related brain disease (hepatic encephalopathy)
  • Abnormal ECG (heart rhythm test)
  • Fluid buildup in the choroid layer of the eye (choroidal effusion) or acute narrow-angle glaucoma (can cause blurred vision or eye pain)
  • Stiff posture, blank facial expression, slow movements, and shuffling, unbalanced walk (Parkinson-like symptoms)
  • Discoloration, numbness, and pain in fingers or toes (Raynaud's phenomenon)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to perindopril, indapamide, amlodipine, or any other ingredients in Triplixam, or to similar medicines (ACE inhibitors, sulfonamides, dihydropyridines).
  • Stop taking Triplixam and contact a doctor immediately if you experience swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat, which can cause difficulty breathing or swallowing (angioedema).
  • Do not take if you have severe liver disease or a brain disease caused by liver problems (hepatic encephalopathy).
  • Do not take if you are more than 3 months pregnant, as it can seriously harm your baby. Avoid during early pregnancy too.
  • Do not take if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are also taking a blood pressure medicine called aliskiren.

  • Do not take if you are currently taking or have recently taken a medicine containing sacubitril/valsartan for heart failure, due to an increased risk of angioedema.

Category A
