How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will prescribe your individual dose.

Method

Take the tablets with plenty of liquid. If you have trouble swallowing the tablet whole, you can break it. Drink plenty of fluids during the treatment.

Important

Always follow your doctor's instructions for the maximum daily dose.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to trimethoprim or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver disease.
  • Do not use if you have severe kidney failure.
  • Do not use if you have a severe absorption disorder.
  • Do not use if you have folic acid deficiency or are taking other medicines that affect folic acid levels.

  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor for advice before using this medicine. Do not breastfeed during treatment.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Contraindicated in case of severe hepatic impairment. Reduce the dose in severe renal impairment. Consider the risks when used in combination with medicines that predispose to hyperkalaemia and are myelotoxic. (updated 6.11.2023)
