How to Use
Dosage
Your doctor will decide the right dose and speed based on your health.
Method
The medicine is given as a continuous infusion under the skin in your stomach or thigh through a thin tube, or into a vein in your neck, chest, or groin through a catheter. An external pump delivers the medicine into your body.
Important
Do not increase your dose without talking to your doctor; dose adjustments are always made under medical supervision.
Possible Side Effects
COMMON
- •Widening of blood vessels and skin redness
- •Pain or tenderness around the infusion site
- •Skin discoloration or bruising around the infusion site
- •Headache
- •Rash
- •Nausea
- •Diarrhea
- •Jaw pain
RARE
- •Dizziness
- •Vomiting
- •Fainting or feeling dizzy due to low blood pressure
- •Itching or redness of the skin
- •Swelling of feet, ankles, or legs, or fluid buildup in the body
- •Bleeding (e.g., nosebleeds, coughing up blood, blood in urine, bleeding gums, blood in stool)
- •Joint pain
- •Muscle pain
- •Pain in legs and/or arms
- •Infection at the infusion site
- •Abscess at the infusion site
- •Low blood platelet count
- •Bleeding at the infusion site
- •Bone pain
- •Rash with discolored or raised bumps
- •Infection under the skin
- •Too much blood pumping from the heart, causing shortness of breath, tiredness, swelling (in legs and belly), and constant cough
- •Inflammation of a vein (thrombophlebitis)
- •Bacterial infection in the bloodstream
- •Severe bacterial infection in the bloodstream (sepsis)
Important Warnings
- Do not use if you are allergic to treprostinil or any other ingredients.
- Do not use if you have a condition where blood vessels in your lungs become swollen and blocked (pulmonary veno-occlusive disease).
- Do not use if you have severe liver disease.
- Do not use if you have serious heart problems, such as a heart attack in the last 6 months, severe irregular heartbeats, or an untreated heart condition.
- Do not use if you have a high risk of bleeding, such as an active stomach ulcer or a stroke in the last 3 months.

- Contact your doctor right away if your blood pressure drops, breathing problems or cough get worse, you have severe bleeding, or you get a fever or redness/swelling at the infusion site.
