How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your suitable dose and how fast the medicine is given.

Method

The medicine is given as a continuous infusion either under the skin (into the abdomen or thigh) or directly into a vein (in the neck, chest, or groin) through a small tube and a portable pump.

Important

Your doctor will carefully adjust your dose and determine the maximum daily amount based on your condition.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Widening of blood vessels and skin redness.
  • Pain or tenderness at the infusion site.
  • Skin discoloration or bruising at the infusion site.
  • Headaches.
  • Rashes.
  • Nausea.
  • Diarrhea.
  • Jaw pain.
  • Dizziness.
  • Vomiting.
  • Fainting or lightheadedness due to low blood pressure.
  • Itchy or red skin.
  • Swelling of feet, ankles, or legs, or fluid retention.
  • Bleeding, such as nosebleeds, coughing up blood, blood in urine, bleeding gums, or blood in stool.
  • Joint pain.
  • Muscle pain.
  • Pain in legs and/or arms.
RARE
  • Infection at the infusion site.
  • Abscess at the infusion site.
  • Decrease in blood clotting cells (platelets), called thrombocytopenia.
  • Bleeding at the infusion site.
  • Infection of tissues under the skin (cellulitis).
  • Bone pain.
  • Rash with skin discoloration or raised bumps.
  • Heart failure, with shortness of breath, tiredness, swelling in the legs and abdomen, and persistent cough.
  • Inflammation of a vein (thrombophlebitis).
  • Bloodstream infection (bacteremia).
  • Sepsis (severe bloodstream infection).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to treprostinil or any other ingredients.
  • Do not use if you have a specific lung condition where blood vessels in the lungs are narrowed.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver disease.
  • Do not use if you have had a heart attack in the last six months, or if you have severe heart rhythm problems or an untreated heart condition.
  • Do not use if you have a high risk of bleeding, such as an active stomach ulcer or other condition causing bleeding.

  • Do not use if you have had a stroke or other brain circulation problem in the last three months.
  • Tell your doctor if your blood pressure drops too much.
  • If you experience rapidly worsening breathing difficulties or persistent cough, contact your doctor immediately.
  • If you experience severe bleeding, as this medicine can increase the risk of bleeding by preventing blood clotting.
  • If you have a fever or redness, swelling, or tenderness at the infusion site, as these can be signs of infection.
