How to Use

Dosage

For adults: 1-2 tablets, 1-3 times a day.

Method

Dissolve the effervescent tablets in a glass of water before taking.

Important

Do not take more than 6 tablets in a day. Taking more than 2 tablets at once does not increase pain relief and can be risky.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Increased risk of bleeding
  • Feeling restless, trouble sleeping, shaking, or a fast heartbeat
  • Upset stomach, heartburn, or feeling sick
  • Allergic reactions like hives, hay fever, or asthma
  • Dizziness
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Stomach ulcers and bleeding in the stomach
  • Sweating or feeling tired
RARE
  • Low number of blood platelets
  • Red blood cell breakdown in a rare inherited blood disorder
  • Narrowing of airways or asthma attack
  • Severe bleeding in the stomach or intestines
  • Abnormal liver or kidney function
  • Severe skin reactions (like swelling under the skin, red skin patches, or peeling skin)
  • Anemia (low red blood cells)
  • Reduced hearing
  • Reye's syndrome (a rare but serious condition)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to aspirin, caffeine, or any other ingredients in Treo.
  • Do not take if you have had asthma, hay fever, or hives after taking aspirin or other pain relievers (NSAIDs) before.
  • Do not take if you have a bleeding disorder, low blood platelets, or problems with blood clotting.
  • Do not take if you have or have had stomach ulcers, gut ulcers, or bleeding in your stomach or intestines.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver, kidney, or heart failure.

  • Do not take during the last three months of pregnancy. If you are trying to get pregnant, talk to your doctor.
  • Talk to your doctor if you are taking blood thinners, other anti-inflammatory medicines, corticosteroids, or certain antidepressants (SSRIs).
  • Treo effervescent tablets should not be given to children.
  • Use Treo only for temporary pain. Long-term use can cause or worsen headaches.
  • Drinking alcohol with Treo can increase the risk of bleeding in your stomach or intestines.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category D

Avoid use in older adults. Not suitable for use as analgesic or antipyretic medication. Increases swelling, worsens renal and heart failure and causes cardiovascular events. Increases risk of bleeding, especially in the gastrointestinal tract. Consider potential interactions especially with preparations that increase risk of bleeding. Consider acetylsalicylic acid in OTC drugs and combination products. (updated 2.5.2022)
