How to Use

Dosage

Start with one Transiderm-Nitro 5 mg/24 h patch per day. If needed, the dose can be increased to one Transiderm-Nitro 10 mg/24 h patch per day.

Method

Apply one patch to clean, dry, hairless skin on your upper arm or chest. Press firmly for 10-20 seconds. Change the patch every 24 hours and apply it to a different skin area each time.

Important

Do not use more than one patch per day. The maximum dose is one 10 mg/24 h patch per day.

Possible Side Effects

  • Sensation of warmth
  • Skin irritation
  • Fast heart rate (tachycardia)
  • Low blood pressure when standing
  • Facial flushing
  • Increased pulse
  • Dizziness
  • Palpitations (abnormal feeling of strong heartbeats)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to glyceryl trinitrate or similar medicines.
  • Do not use if you have very low blood pressure or tend to faint.
  • Do not use if you are taking medicines for erectile dysfunction (like sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil), as this can be very dangerous.
  • Tell your doctor or nurse if you are going to have surgery, be hospitalized, or have an MRI, as these patches contain aluminum.
  • Be careful with alcohol, as it can make the blood pressure-lowering effect stronger.

  • This medicine can cause dizziness, especially at the start of treatment. Be careful when driving or operating machines.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A
