How to Use
Dosage
Your doctor will decide the right dose for you, based on your age and weight (for children over 1 year).
Method
This medicine is given as a slow injection or infusion directly into a vein. It should not be injected into a muscle.
Important
Your doctor will determine your maximum daily dose and treatment duration.
Possible Side Effects
COMMON
- •Nausea
- •Vomiting
- •Diarrhea
RARE
- •Skin rash
- •Feeling unwell with low blood pressure, possibly leading to loss of consciousness (especially if injected too quickly)
- •Blood clots
- •Seizures
- •Vision problems, including color vision changes
- •Allergic reactions
Important Warnings
- Do not use if you are allergic to tranexamic acid or any other ingredient in this medicine.
- Do not use if you currently have a condition that causes blood clots.
- Do not use if you have a condition called 'consumption coagulopathy', where blood clots form throughout your body.
- Do not use if you have kidney problems.
- Do not use if you have a history of seizures.

- Tell your doctor if you have blood in your urine, as it can lead to blockages in the urinary tract.
- Tell your doctor if you have a risk of developing blood clots.
- Tell your doctor if you have a severe blood clotting or bleeding disorder (disseminated intravascular coagulation), as this medicine might not be suitable for you unless specific conditions are met.
- If you are on long-term treatment, your doctor will monitor your vision for any color changes and you will need regular eye examinations.
Use in Elderly Patients
Category C
