How to Use

Dosage

Usually, one or two 50 mg or one 100 mg Tramal retard prolonged-release tablet twice a day.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with enough liquid. Do not split or chew them. You can take them with or without food, preferably in the morning and evening.

Important

Do not take more than 400 mg of tramadol hydrochloride per day unless your doctor has prescribed otherwise.

  • Heart and circulation problems (e.g., racing heart, fast pulse, feeling faint or collapsing), slow heart rate, increased blood pressure.
  • Gagging, stomach irritation (e.g., feeling of pressure in the stomach, bloating), diarrhea, changes in appetite.
  • Skin reactions (e.g., itching, rash), allergic reactions (e.g., breathing difficulties, wheezing, skin swelling), and shock (sudden circulatory collapse).
  • Unusual sensations (e.g., itching, tingling, numbness), tremors, epileptic seizures, muscle spasms, uncontrolled movements, temporary loss of consciousness (fainting), speech disorders, hallucinations, confusion, sleep disorders, delirium, anxiety, nightmares, mood changes, changes in activity, changes in how you think or sense things, slow breathing, shortness of breath, severe breathing problems (respiratory depression).
  • Blurred vision, constricted pupils (small pupils), or excessively dilated pupils (large pupils).
  • Drug dependence, muscle weakness, difficulty urinating or painful urination, less urine than usual, worsening of asthma, increased liver enzymes, decreased blood sugar, hiccups, Serotonin syndrome (symptoms like agitation, hallucinations, coma, fever, fast heart rate, blood pressure changes, twitching, stiff muscles, coordination problems, stomach issues).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to tramadol or any of its ingredients.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have poisoning from alcohol, sleeping pills, other painkillers, or medicines affecting your mood.
  • Do not use if you have taken MAO inhibitors (medicines for depression) in the last 14 days.
  • Do not use if you have epilepsy that is not controlled by medicine, or as a treatment for opioid withdrawal.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have breathing difficulties, a head injury, high pressure in your brain, or liver/kidney disease.

  • Be careful when taking other medicines, especially sedatives, antidepressants (due to serotonin syndrome risk), or blood thinners.
  • Do not drink alcohol during treatment as it can make the medicine's effects stronger.
  • This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or if you are breastfeeding (unless for a single dose).
  • This medicine can cause drowsiness, dizziness, and blurred vision, so do not drive or use machines if you feel your reactions are slowed.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without talking to your doctor, especially after long-term use, to avoid withdrawal symptoms.
