How to Use

Dosage

Adults and young people over 12 years old take 1 or 2 tablets.

Method

Dissolve 1 or 2 tablets in about half a glass of water and drink the cloudy mixture. You can take it with or without food.

Important

Do not take more than 8 tablets (400 mg) in one day, unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

  • High blood pressure
  • Unusual sensations (like itching, tingling, numbness), trembling, muscle twitching, coordination problems, temporary loss of consciousness, speech problems
  • Hallucinations, confusion, sleep problems, anxiety, nightmares
  • Blurred vision, dilated pupils, constricted pupils
  • Shortness of breath; slow breathing
  • Difficulty or pain when urinating, less urine

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Tramal if you are allergic to tramadol or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take Tramal if you have recently taken MAO inhibitors (medicines for depression) within the last 14 days, or if you are acutely poisoned by alcohol, sleeping pills, other pain medicines, or medicines for mental disorders.
  • Do not take Tramal if you have epilepsy that is not well controlled by medicine, or if you are prone to seizures.
  • Do not take Tramal if you have severe liver or kidney problems.
  • Talk to your doctor if you think you might be dependent on other pain medicines or if you have a history of substance abuse. This medicine can lead to dependence.

  • This medicine can make you sleepy, dizzy, or blur your vision, which can affect your ability to react. Do not drive or use machines if you feel your reactions are slowed.
  • Children under 12 years old should not use Tramal.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have trouble breathing, or if you have symptoms like extreme tiredness, no appetite, severe stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, or low blood pressure. These could be signs of adrenal insufficiency.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category D

Avoid use in older adults. Serotonergic. Prodrug. Genotype affects the response. Reduce the dose in moderately severe and severe renal impairment. Increases the risk of confusion and falling. Need for laxative is often necessary. Consider potential interactions. (updated 18.8.2025)
