How to Use

Dosage

For adults and adolescents over 12 years: 20-40 drops.

Method

Take Tramal drops by mouth. You can mix them with a small amount of liquid, put them on a sugar cube, or take them with food or on an empty stomach.

Important

Do not take more than 160 drops per day (which is 400 mg of tramadol), unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

  • Skin reactions (itching, rash), severe allergic reactions like breathing problems, swelling, or shock.
  • Unusual feelings (itching, tingling, numbness), shaking, seizures, muscle twitching, problems with coordination, temporary loss of consciousness, speech problems.
  • Hallucinations, confusion, trouble sleeping, anxiety, nightmares, sudden severe confusion. Changes in mood or activity.
  • Blurred vision, changes in pupil size.
  • Shortness of breath, slow breathing. Worsening of asthma.
  • Difficulty or pain when urinating, less urine.
  • Increased liver enzyme levels, low blood sugar, hiccups. Serotonin syndrome symptoms.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to tramadol or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take if you have acute poisoning from alcohol, sleeping pills, or other medicines that affect your mood.
  • Do not take if you have used certain antidepressants (MAO inhibitors) in the last 14 days.
  • Do not take if your epilepsy is not well-controlled by medication.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver or kidney problems.

  • This medicine can lead to dependence and addiction if used repeatedly.
  • Be aware of serotonin syndrome: a rare but serious condition. Seek medical help if you experience symptoms like agitation, hallucinations, fever, or fast heart rate.
  • Tramal can cause breathing problems during sleep (sleep apnea). Contact your doctor if you or others notice breathing pauses during sleep, waking up short of breath, or daytime sleepiness.
  • Do not drink alcohol while taking Tramal, as it can make the medicine's effects stronger.
  • Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • Tramal can cause drowsiness or dizziness. Do not drive or operate machinery if your reactions feel impaired.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category D

Avoid use in older adults. Serotonergic. Prodrug. Genotype affects the response. Reduce the dose in moderately severe and severe renal impairment. Increases the risk of confusion and falling. Need for laxative is often necessary. Consider potential interactions. (updated 18.8.2025)
