How to Use

Dosage

10-30 mg.

Method

Given into a muscle or vein every 4-6 hours. If given into a vein, inject slowly over at least 15 seconds. Right after surgery, 30 mg can be given every other hour.

Important

120 mg per day. For people over 65 years, the maximum daily dose is 60 mg.

  • Kidney problems, changes in how much you urinate, kidney pain, or abnormal blood tests
  • Heart palpitations, slow or fast heartbeat, heart failure, high or low blood pressure, or bruising
  • Liver problems like hepatitis, yellow skin or eyes (jaundice), or liver failure
  • Itching, sweating, or severe skin rashes (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome)
  • Thirst, weakness, fever, chest pain, muscle pain, or changes in blood tests (e.g., prolonged bleeding time)
  • Seizures, tingling, memory issues, depression, sleeplessness, anxiety, mood changes, or hallucinations
  • Vision problems, ringing in the ears, or hearing loss
  • Pain or swelling at the injection site
  • Female infertility
  • Low platelet count
  • Aseptic meningitis (brain inflammation without infection)
  • Loss of appetite
  • High potassium (hyperkalemia)
  • Low sodium (hyponatremia)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to ketorolac, aspirin, or other similar pain medications.
  • Do not use if you have or have had stomach ulcers or bleeding in your stomach or intestines.
  • Do not use if you have or are suspected of having bleeding in the brain.
  • Do not use if you have severe kidney problems or are at risk of kidney damage, for example due to dehydration.
  • Do not use if you have severe heart failure.

  • Do not use if you have liver cirrhosis.
  • Do not use during the last trimester of pregnancy, during labor, or while breastfeeding.
  • Do not use if there is a high risk of bleeding during or after surgery.
  • Do not use with other anti-inflammatory pain medications (NSAIDs) or pentoxifylline.
  • Do not use with epidural or intrathecal anesthesia due to alcohol content.
  • Using this medicine may slightly increase your risk of heart attack or stroke, especially with high doses or long-term use. Do not exceed the recommended dose or treatment time. Talk to your doctor if you have heart problems, a history of stroke, or risk factors like high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, or smoking.
  • Be careful when using in elderly or frail patients, as it can harm the digestive tract and increase the risk of bleeding.
  • Stop using immediately if you get a rash, mouth sores, or other signs of an allergic reaction. Serious skin reactions have been reported.
  • Use with caution if you have asthma, nasal polyps, or swelling.
  • Patients with bleeding disorders should be carefully monitored.
  • This medicine may cause fluid retention and high blood pressure.
  • Do not give to children under 16 years of age.
