How to Use

Dosage

Apply once daily.

Method

Wash and dry the treated skin areas gently. Apply a thin layer of Tolerak cream to the affected areas. Gently rub the cream into the skin with your fingertips. Avoid contact with other body areas and other people. Wash your hands thoroughly after applying the cream. Continue for 4 weeks.

Important

Do not apply more than once daily.

  • General redness of the skin
  • Bleeding at application site
  • Shallow sores at application site
  • Rash at application site (dermatitis)
  • Dry skin at application site
  • Altered sensation like numbness, tingling or prickling at application site
  • Sunburn-like reaction to light (photosensitivity reaction)
  • Allergic skin reaction (contact dermatitis)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to fluorouracil or any other ingredients, especially peanut or soy.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you can get pregnant, use effective birth control during treatment and for 6 months after. If you are a man and can father a child, use effective birth control during treatment and for 3 months after.
  • Do not apply the cream directly to your eyes, nose, mouth, or other moist skin areas (mucous membranes). If it accidentally gets into your eyes, rinse them with plenty of water.
  • Do not apply to open wounds or broken skin.
  • If your skin becomes very painful, gets worse, or if you are worried, contact your doctor.

  • Do not cover the treated skin area with bandages or dressings, as this can increase skin reactions.
  • Avoid sunlight and sunbeds during treatment, as this medicine can make your skin more sensitive to light.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a DPD enzyme deficiency, as this medicine can cause serious side effects like mouth sores, stomach pain, or fever. Stop use and contact your doctor immediately if these symptoms occur.
  • Not for use in children or adolescents under 18 years of age.
  • Do not use with medicines for chickenpox or shingles (like brivudine or sorivudine), or if you have used them in the past 4 weeks, as this can increase side effects.
