How to Use

Dosage

Adults and children over 10 years: 1-2 tablets in the evening before bedtime, or one rectal suspension in the morning if needed.

Method

Tablets are swallowed whole with liquid, usually in the evening. Do not chew or crush them. The rectal suspension is administered rectally and is for single use only.

Important

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

  • Dizziness or fainting (especially during bowel movement or with upper abdominal pain)
  • Bloody stools
  • Colon inflammation (colitis, ischemic colitis)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to bisacodyl or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have sudden stomach pain, severe abdominal pain, or an acute inflammatory bowel disease.
  • Do not use if a doctor has diagnosed you with a bowel obstruction.
  • Do not use if you have dehydration or an electrolyte imbalance.
  • Do not use if you have sores or inflammation around the anus or in the rectum, or bleeding hemorrhoids.

  • Talk to your doctor before using Toilax if you have long-term or ongoing constipation.
  • Frequent and long-term use of Toilax can lead to dependency, meaning your bowels may not work normally without laxatives.
  • Do not give Toilax to children under 2 years of age.
  • Wait at least one hour between taking Toilax tablets and consuming milk products or antacids.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
