How to Use

Dosage

Take one 60 mg tablet in the morning and one 60 mg tablet in the evening.

Method

You can take the tablet with or without food. Try to take it at the same time each day. If you can't swallow the tablet whole, crush it into a fine powder, mix it with half a glass of water, and drink it right away. Rinse the glass with a little more water and drink that too.

Important

The most you should take in one day is two 60 mg tablets, for a total of 120 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • High levels of uric acid in your blood (found in blood tests).
  • Bleeding more easily than usual (due to blood problems).
  • Bruises.
  • Headache.
  • Feeling dizzy or like the room is spinning.
  • Diarrhea or an upset stomach.
  • Feeling sick (nausea).
  • Constipation.
  • Skin rash.
  • Itching.
  • Strong joint pain and swelling (signs of gout).
  • Feeling dizzy, weak, or having blurry vision (signs of low blood pressure).
  • Nosebleeds.
  • More bleeding than usual after surgery or from cuts (like from shaving).
  • Bleeding from inside your stomach (ulcer).
  • Bleeding gums.
  • Feeling short of breath (this is very common).
RARE
  • Allergic reaction (rash, itching, or swelling of your face, lips, or tongue).
  • Feeling confused.
  • Vision problems caused by blood in your eye.
  • Vaginal bleeding that is heavier or happens at unusual times.
  • Bleeding into your joints and muscles, causing painful swelling.
  • Blood in your ear.
  • Internal bleeding that might make you feel dizzy or weak.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to ticagrelor or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you are currently bleeding.
  • Do not take if you have had a stroke caused by bleeding in your brain.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver disease.
  • Do not take if you are using certain medicines like ketoconazole (for fungal infections), clarithromycin (for bacterial infections), nefazodone (for depression), ritonavir, or atazanavir (for HIV/AIDS).

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Initiation of treatment in specialized care. Consider potential interactions especially with other drugs that increase the risk of bleeding. Avoid grapefruit. (updated 19.9.2025)
