How to Use

Dosage

Take one 60 mg tablet twice a day.

Method

Take this medicine around the same time each day (e.g., one tablet in the morning and one in the evening), with or without food, and you can crush the tablet and mix it with half a glass of water if you have trouble swallowing.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 120 mg (two 60 mg tablets).

COMMON
  • Shortness of breath
  • Higher uric acid levels in blood tests
  • Bleeding disorders
  • Bruising
  • Headache
  • Dizziness or feeling like the room is spinning
  • Diarrhea or indigestion
  • Nausea (feeling sick)
  • Constipation
  • Rash
  • Itching
  • Severe joint pain and swelling (signs of gout)
  • Feeling dizzy or lightheaded, or blurred vision (signs of low blood pressure)
  • Nosebleeds
  • Bleeding more than usual after surgery or from cuts (e.g., shaving)
  • Stomach bleeding
  • Bleeding gums
RARE
  • Allergic reaction (skin rash, itching, swelling of face, lips or tongue)
  • Confusion
  • Vision problems due to blood in the eye
  • Vaginal bleeding that is heavier or occurs at unusual times
  • Bleeding into joints and muscles causing painful swelling
  • Blood in the ear
  • Internal bleeding that may cause dizziness or weakness
  • Unusually slow heart rate (usually under 60 beats per minute)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to ticagrelor or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take this medicine if you currently have bleeding.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have had a stroke caused by bleeding in the brain.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe liver disease.
  • Tell your doctor if you have an increased risk of bleeding due to a recent severe injury, surgery (including dental surgery), or stomach/bowel bleeding.

  • Tell your doctor if your heart rate is unusually slow (under 60 beats per minute) and you don't have a pacemaker.
  • Tell your doctor if you have asthma or other breathing problems.
