This medicine helps your body accept transplanted organs and can treat other unwanted immune reactions by weakening your immune system.
Your dose depends on your weight, the condition being treated, and other medicines you might be taking; for example, for kidney transplants, it's typically 1.25-1.5 mg per kg daily.
A doctor or nurse will give you this medicine in the hospital through a plastic tube (catheter) directly into your bloodstream (intravenous infusion) over at least 4 hours, and the first dose might take longer.
The maximum daily dose depends on your weight and the condition being treated, typically up to 1.5 mg per kg of body weight.
