How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor or nurse will determine the dose and frequency individually based on your age, weight, health condition, and the reason for treatment.

Method

The medicine is given by injection into a muscle, under the skin, or as a slow infusion into a vein.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions (like trouble breathing, itching, shock, or stomach pain). These often start with sneezing or temporary itching.
  • Skin rash or persistent purple spots on the skin. This can happen after the injection in sensitive patients.
  • Pain, irritation, tenderness, or hardening at the injection site.
  • Pain and a burning feeling in the arm if the injection is given too fast into a vein.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Thiamine Kabi if you are allergic to thiamine hydrochloride or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse if you have kidney problems, as your condition will be carefully monitored.
  • Giving thiamine by injection can cause allergic reactions, especially after repeated doses. Your doctor will make sure you are not allergic to thiamine before giving the solution.
  • Inform your doctor if you have previously had a mild allergic reaction to thiamine (e.g., sneezing or mild asthma).
  • Do not use this medicine if the solution is not clear, contains visible particles, or has sediment.

  • If you are having a blood test, tell your doctor you are receiving Thiamine Kabi, as high thiamine levels in the blood can affect certain medical tests.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, including fluorouracil, other fluoropyrimidines (like capecitabine), ifosfamide, or diuretics (like furosemide), as they might affect your treatment.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before using this medicine.
